ABOUT Mr. PETER MANUEL

Peter Manuel is a podiatric foot and ankle surgeon based in Geraldton, Western Australia. He obtained his under graduate degree from Curtin University in 1997 and his masters degree in 2005 also from Curtin University. Peter undertook specialist foot and ankle surgical training in 2005 and was awarded Fellowship from the Australasian College of Podiatric Surgeons in 2012.


During his training program Peter received international registrar training fellowships with the Orthopaedic Department, Great Western Hospital, Swindon and Avon Orthopaedic Centre, Southmead Hospital Bristol. This incorporated all fields of foot and ankle reconstructive surgery and was under the guidance of some of the worlds leaders in foot and ankle surgery. He also attended numerous workshops and training courses in the USA, Singapore, Malayasia and Australia.


Peter has a major interest in ankle ligament and mid foot reconstructive procedures. He also performs surgery for conditions such as hallux valgus (bunions), hammer toes and ingrown toenails. Peter is a Commonwealth Accredited Podiatric Surgeon and is registered as a specialist podiatric surgeon with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority. He is also endorsed for scheduled medicines with the Podiatry Board of Australia.


TEACHING

Peter is passionate about teaching and frequently speaks at scientific symposiums on both a state and national level. He is regularly invited as a guest speaker to the Podiatry Association State Conference and The ACPS national symposium. He also conducts regular teaching to podiatrists and other allied health professionals.


RESEARCH

Peter has received research fellowships with the Combined University Centre for Rural Health for research to investigate primary healthcare in rural settings. He is also published in the areas of wound healing and rheumatoid arthritis. Recent publications include:

Lakeisha is from a small country town on the Murray river in Victoria. Since graduating in 2020 from LaTrobe University Bundoora, Lakeisha has worked in clinics in Perth, Kalgoorlie and now Geraldton. Lakeisha’s special interests within Podiatry include biomechanics and musculoskeletal presentations. Lakeisha also has experience with sports footwear after working at Active Feet, a Podiatrist run sports shoe specialist in Melbourne.


HOBBIES

Lakeisha has always loved being in nature and in her spare time loves getting outdoors, playing sports, and enjoys hiking and camping! She also enjoys playing and listening to a diverse range of music and going to gigs and festivals. Lakeisha is passionate about helping people and is looking forward to empowering and encouraging everyone to be able to achieve their foot health goals, and to keep you doing the activities that you love.
